On Chysyl, a moon orbiting the gas giant of Peridor in Jaern's star system, there exists a world filled with many creatures much more intelligent than anyone expected. About ~30 years ago a psionic burst granted the avian races of the moon sentient life, and since then they've built up a civilization with each other.

The Culture of Chysyl, being made up of many city-states, is very tribal and as a result varies wildly between the cities.

The few sky cities and the southern akvo'avian cities are known for their more capitalist tendencies. This is only aided by the fact that these are the only places to use money, while other cities adopt a more bartering based approach. That being said coin is shiny and easily catches their attention so using Jaernian currency to exchange with them is possible.

In terms of foods and dishes, most dishes are fruit and fish based, with little in the way of meats aside from specialties for the Eufalconi and Harpidan.

The avians of Chysyl can be most easily split into four categories, Eufalconi, Terravian, Akvo'avians, and Harpidan though hybrids and subspecies of these do exist as well.

Eufalconi often take the roles of rangers, peacekeepers, and soldiers for society, due to their superior aerial mobility and history as hutners.

Terravian are amongst the more long-lived of the avian races. Their innate psionic powers sometimes gets them heralded as great ones, but other times causes them to get shunned as strange magic holders.

Akvo'avians, most often found at the poles of Chysyl, are known for their active expansion war campaigns, trying to win at all costs. They are also fond of tourists.

Harpidan often run the tree-top cities as they were the first to start establishing governments and laws.
